This process is called in situ reuse of old asphalt pavement materials. The working principle of in situ cold recycling of pavement is to add appropriate aggregate, cement, lime, fly ash, water and other external materials on the basis of the original old pavement according to the new design requirements, and use the in situ cold recycling machine.
在自然常溫下，就地連續完成對舊鋪層（路面和部分基層）的銑刨、破碎、添加料、拌和、攤鋪等工序，隨后進行找平和突出，終修建出一種特殊級配的道路基層（或底基層）。
Under natural normal temperature, the milling, crushing, adding, mixing, paving and other processes of the old pavement (pavement and part of the base course) are continuously completed on the spot, followed by leveling and rolling, and finally a special graded road base (or subbase) is constructed.
一般來說，路面長時間經受重型交通，會導致路基損壞。為了消除這種損壞，需要對整個路面進行結構性修理。路面冷再生機將銑刨料全部進行從頭使用，加之其經濟的處理方式，使得采用泡沫瀝青進行冷再生施工成為一種開創性解決方案，終到達環保而經濟的效果。
